Kananaskis Improvement District and Kananaskis Country have declared a State of Local Emergency due to ongoing rainfall and localized flooding impacting road access and several recreation areas.
Good news: the mudslide on Highway 40 SOUTH of the campground has been cleared. Guests currently in the area are now able to exit toward the south.
However, emergency services are not permitting guests to enter Kananaskis Country at this time. The Evan Thomas Creek Bridge washout to the north continues to block all northbound access. Conditions remain fluid and the entry restriction may change as crews continue to work.
Your reservation options from our earlier message still apply:
Remove nights from your reservation on a day-by-day basiswhile waiting to see if conditions improve.
Cancel your reservation outright — the cancellation fee remains waived for the duration of this emergency.
Please email us — do not call. The front desk phones are still inundated and management is monitoring email personally.
Email with your confirmation code and whether you would like to remove specific nights or cancel the reservation.
Thank you again for your patience as Alberta Parks and emergency crews continue to restore safe access.
